A week in the life of response officers in Huntingdonshire |
||
|
Dear Resident, We often say no two days are the same in policing, and for our response officers, that couldn’t be more true. Here’s a snapshot of what they’ve been dealing with across Huntingdon over the past few days… Their day began with reports of two people fighting in Fenstanton, following concerns from neighbours about violence in the street. Officers quickly attended, separated those involved and raised crimes for the offences.
They were also alerted by an off-duty officer who spotted a man in Tesco in Ramsey suspected of shoplifting. Officers attended, arrested the man, and he was taken into custody.
Later, officers were called to reports of three cows on a 60mph road near Ramsey St Mary’s. Thankfully, they were able to stop traffic and assist farmers in safely moving them off the road.
Other incidents officers responded to included: Missing persons
Officers also attended a report of a break-in at a cycle shop near Grafham. The shopkeeper had spotted two men with covered faces attempting to gain access. After activating the alarm, the suspects made off before officers arrived. An investigation is ongoing.
